  • US Dollar Index - Weekly: Perhaps The Most Important Trend In 2011

    Every since the financial meltdown really picked up steam in the summer of 2008 the dollar was able to curtail its sharp multi-year sell off. Since then, its put in a triple top and again seems ready to resume its LT trend down. The recent bear flag breakout is the latest clue.

  • CBOE Total Put/Call Options Ratio - Danger Territory

    The dashed 10 day EMA of this ratio does well to smooth out day to day volatility. It's currently down in the complacency territory, even with options dividend plays today, it's worth be cautious.

    It's been awhile since posting this. So far, so good. Back & fill, stairstep pattern as of late since BO of 5 RP consolidation wedge. Above the megaphone midline and above key daily moving averages which recently crossed. Target is top rail. Risk creeping back in, albeit slowly.

  • US Dollar - Daily

    Really watching the DX closely here. It's been a tough one to figure out. I still contend it's going back down after a hard backtest of the neckline. Shooting star today. Went all the way up and filled a thin zone which i thought it didn't have a much of a shot at doing. Major resistance above.

    I'm view the monthly MFN chart as about to enter the most powerful wave: Wave iii of (III). Recently we broke out of a small bull flag in red. Monthly MACD and RSI both look ready to rumble. Test of the old highs probably coming soon.

  • Crude Weekly - Dealt Us Diamonds

    I knew when this diamond formation broke out it was game on. Immediately I switched to buying dips or backtests. Two weeks back I was fortunate to get in near 80 and tweeted it. Sitting with a nice call spread on CL April 85/90. Have been accumulating calls on dips in in TSO, SU, XOM for some time.

    Updated chart; you will see the counter-trend rally was a little more aggressive then I originally anticipated. This is characteristic of a bear market counter trend rally: sharp and fast. LT trend is down; selling all rallies.

  • US Bonds Gains In Terms Of Dollar Purchasing Power Parity

    Bond gains the last 10 years are deceptive consider the dollar has lost a tremendous amount of value during the past decade. In terms of purchasing power parity, they have been a lousy investment in my opinion.

  • Gold Stock Bubble? Signs Of A Top?

    If you think gold stocks are in a bubble relative to the shiny metal, you are seriously kidding yourself. Relative to the metal, gold stocks are extremely undervalued. Personally, I think the ratio between the two will lead LT rates higher. Only time will tell.

  • USDX Oversold Bounce, Running On Fumes?

    US Dollar strength lately has surprised me. It has made it back to its neckline to test this important bearish breakout. The NL should now be resistance. A break above it would have me getting out the eraser. I'm long the EUR/USD until then.

  • Long Bond Bear Flag On Hourly

    The bear flag measures 121 1/2 - its now trading at 126 19/32. It's hard to believe it could fall that much over 10 trading days or so, but that's the PO of 4 reversal point bear flag if it breakouts out of the bottom of flag.

  • 5 Year Chart Of Silver In Various Currencies

    Silver is even stronger then gold recently. Gold is 60% above its 1980 highs. Silver on the other hand is still 39% below its 1980 spike high. A test of the old high is coming in my honest opinion. Buy physical first!
